Keywords alerts allows you to monitor conversations in channels you’ve joined about topics that interest you.
Anytime someone uses one of your keywords, you’ll receive a notification and see it highlighted in yellow. Add words for things like player names you are interested in to ensure you don’t miss out on conversations relating to them. Even better you can set this up for the Price Alerts channel so if a player your interested makes a big quick price move (in either direction) you will receive a notification to your phone or desktop.
Setting up Mobile notifications
To set up player alerts on your Slack mobile app just tap on the channel name you want to be notified of at the top of the screen.
Select notifications and choose “mentions or keywords”.
Once you’ve done that, you need to go to the main settings of the app by tapping on the 3 dots in the top right of your screen in any channel.
Choose notifications and then scroll down till you see “My Keywords”.
Finally you can enter the surnames of all the players you would like notifications for in the box shown.
Setting up Desktop notifications
From your desktop, click your workspace name in the top left.
Select Preferences from the menu.
Ensure “Direct messages, messages & keywords” is selected.
Under My keywords, enter the surnames of the players you’d like to be notified about.
In the example above anytime someone types ‘Messi’ into one of the channels, an alert will be generated. You can then go to the channel and see where he’s been mentioned (highlighted in yellow).
Alerts will also be generated when Messi appears in the automated Buzz price move reports.
Remember, you only need to enable notifications for the channels you want to be notified for. Many members just enable it for the price move and/ or news channels.
