We have a new BuzzPro report to help examine player base scores (players who can generate huge match day scores without scoring a goal, creating assists or keeping a clean sheet).
A high baseline score means additional potential for dividends if players can find form in front of the net or keep a clean sheet. It’s usually the players who see a lot of the ball or in the thick of the action who rack up a lot of passing points or crossing points – even tackles, interceptions and clearances.
The report contains various metrics to help filter and sort players by average base scores (scores without goals, GWG, assists and clean sheets) as well as a separate column for those bonuses.
Some players will be stronger in one area than another – and some may well be strong in both. You can even view the amount of dividend wins for each player to help you see if a decent base score helps that player to get close to winning dividends or actually winning dividends.
Thiago Alcantara has the 3rd highest base score of any player this season, but a very low bonus average.
In fact, he has managed to win triple match day dividends this season without scoring, assisting or keeping a clean sheet this season, only 2 other players have managed this feat (the difference being Thiago has managed this for 3 different matches this season – an incredible achievement).
Mbappe is the opposite, a player who actually scores very low baselines, but does very well on the goals and clean sheet front to accrue very decent bonus points. No goals, no match day dividends – so if PSG face some tough opposition his chance of dividends that day are much lower than Thiago’s – lucky for Mbappe holders then that PSG have limited tough fixtures but certainly something to consider.
Having a diverse range of player in your portfolio is crucial for success. A mix of players who can achieve peak scores and players who have high base scores as well as some transfer targets and youth players.
This report should also help prove some points when it comes to match day scores and bonus points when it comes to discussions around probability of winning dividends for any given player.
