After last years long run in the Europa league, I’ve decided to take a more in-depth look at the Marseille team that got to the final. As well as this, i’ll be looking at some recent additions to the squad who have potential to flourish this season. I will analyse each player with dividend potential by their whoscored.com rating.
First here is my prediction for the starting 11 for the year
Thauvin ( 7.94 rating ) – The French winger made 35 appearances last season scoring 22 goals and getting 11 assists which is a great achievement. He also returned 36p of dividends last year which is around 10% ROI on his current price and I can only see that getting better next year as I think Marseille look stronger as a whole.
Payet ( 7.54 rating) – The Ex-west ham midfielder enjoyed a good campaign for Marseille last season and was one of the main reasons why they reached the Europa league final. He was a big miss when he got injured after 20 minutes in that final. If looking at PB Payet is a good call as he is on set pieces at Marseille so should rack up a good score. He returned 24p in dividends last season and at £1.56 could be a good addition to your portfolio next season.
Amavi ( 7.15 rating) – The French LB formerly of Aston Villa managed 6 assists last season and although this doesn’t get the credit it deserves in terms of PB it shows that he puts a lot of crosses in which are rewarded. Although, only returning 4p in dividends last year he is only 85p and I expect him to have an even better year next year.
Lucas Ocampos ( 7.1 rating) – The Argentinian winger made only 23 appearances last year with 8 of these coming from the bench and he still scored 9 goals and got 3 assists. With an increase in game time next season, I expect his PB figures to increase along with his price as he is still only 24. With a lot of time spent on the bench, not much PB was earned, but I expect that to change next year with many more match starts.
Sanson ( 6.99 rating) – The 23 year old scored 9 goals and got 2 assists from midfield last year with limited game time like Ocampos. Next year I expect these figures to go up even more as he will probably play instead of an ageing ill-disciplined Luiz Gustavo.
I have only written about the Marseille players who I believe should score well for PB and could bring in a fair amount of dividends next year.
The only real signing they have made is Duje- Caleta- Car, Remy Cabellahas also come back from his loan to St. Etienne.
Duje is a very promising young CB and will slot in to the heart of Marseilles defence perfectly next season. At only 21, the Croatian future international has incredible potential and has been tipped as one of the best future CB’s in the world. He played 51 games last season for Salzburg with a number of them being in the Europa league and scored 2 goals with 2 assists. He looks very composed on the ball for a player of his age and a team who have an average of 56% possession like Marseille will help to boost his PB scores. I strongly believe by the end of next season he could be a £2 defender and at only 91p there is a huge amount of growth left him in without talking about the potential dividend returns.
